The Alvarinho grape variety is best known in the Vinho Verde region, but thanks to Atlantic influences, the winemakers of the time dared to plant it in southern Portugal 15 years ago. The Atlantic Ocean brings coolness, which helps keep the grapes from over-ripening.<\/p>\n
This wine was born from the remarkable journey of the aforementioned Alvarinho \u2013 the queen of all Portuguese white grape varieties: AdegaM\u00e3e's best Atlantic-influenced Alvarinho barrels, worked on by our wine specialist Diogo Lopes, have been combined with Anselmo Mendes' finest Alvarinho from the Vinho Verde region. Two regions, two wine specialists, one grape variety: this is an unprecedented Alvarinho, full of freshness, body and originality.<\/p>\n
Golden straw-yellow in colour, bright and inviting. The development of citrus aromas brings out orange zest, ripe white fruit and a light honey note. The wine is fermented and aged in concrete vats and matured for 10 months on the lees, contributing to a more complex profile. Vivid, well-balanced acidity contrasts with the soft mouthfeel; texture, creaminess and fruitiness give it a harmonious and structured flavour experience, allowing for an exceptionally long finish. Concrete vat ageing adds depth, character and beauty to the wine.<\/p>\n
Perfect as a \u201cmeditation wine\u201d. Enjoy it on its own or add riper, fuller flavours alongside. When cooking, don't be afraid to use plenty of butter, aromatic spices or sweeter\/more acidic ingredients.
