Taliano Michele Langhe Nebbiolo DOC “Blagheur”
2080 €
The history of Azienda Agricola Taliano Michele dates back to 1930, when Domenico Taliano founded it. They began in the Roero area, but expanded into the Langhe in the 1970s, and bought more land in the 1990s. The same path is followed today, “conquering” ever more vineyards. Since 2019 they have used only green energy, both in production and in daily life.
In winemaking the focus is mainly on the grape variety itself, with extra character coming only from a couple of months of oak ageing (in barrique). In addition to the oak ageing, the wine matures for more than another half a year in bottle before it is released for sale. The taste and aroma bring out juicy berry fruit, light aromatics and gentle spiciness. Acidity and tannins are higher than average.
“Blagheur” The word itself is linked to the expression “Blaguma na vota!”, which roughly means “Let's splurge a little this time!”, “Treat yourself to something special for once!” or “Let's spoil ourselves a bit today!”. This phrase was traditionally used when a rare opportunity arose to drink Nebbiolo, which was considered valuable and special. Another meaning refers to a person who shows off a little, exaggerates or behaves slightly grandly – something like a “show-off”, “boaster” or “fancy character”, but in a friendly and humorous key. The winery's story ties these meanings together to convey exactly that mood – celebrating a special moment and treating yourself to something valuable and enjoyable. So… feel you deserve something more special? Be our guest!
