Zuccardi “Valles” Malbec
2030 €
Zuccardi “Valles” Malbec is a fresh and elegant Malbec from the high-altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley in Argentina.
Ripe plums, blackcurrants and cherries intertwine with fresh herbs and a gentle spiciness. This medium-bodied wine has juicy tannins, good acidity and a long, berry-driven finish. The medium body, juicy tannins and good acidity make the wine exceptionally food-friendly. This is a Malbec that shows the fresher and more elegant side of Argentina's famous grape variety.
Zuccardi is one of Argentina's best-known and most internationally acclaimed wineries. The family's wine story began in the 1960s in the Mendoza region, and today the company is led by the third generation. Particularly interesting is Zuccardi's approach to the Uco Valley. Instead of focusing only on the grape variety, they study in great depth the different growing sites, altitudes and soils. The Uco Valley lies at the foot of the Andes and the vineyards are located very high up. The grapes grow in vineyards at over 1,000 m above sea level. The altitude, the large diurnal temperature range and the stony alluvial soils help the grapes retain acidity and aromatic freshness, which sets it apart from the heavy, jammy Malbec style.
