Ruby-red in colour, the aroma shows black fruits such as blackberries, blackcurrants, blueberries and plum, plus a light smoky note of incense and peppermint. On the palate it is dry, with firm tannins, stronger than average and berry-driven. The finish shows a light smokiness and notes of strawberry. Like the same producer's Merlot, the wine is aged for a few months in concrete, which adds a slightly animal character.

As for food, various grilled sausages and meats work well.
