AdegaMãe Dory Branco

1080 €

Dory is one of AdegaMãe's core brands. It was created to honour Portugal's cod-fishing heritage. “Dory” refers to the very boat depicted on the bottle, which was used for catching cod. As cod is not found near Portugal, it was fished off Norway instead. Many such boats were sent out to sea at once from the “mother ship” and returned only when the whole boat was full of fish. As fishing took place in all weathers, more than a few boats never returned.

The wine itself is a blend of four grape varieties: Viosinho, Alvarinho, Arinto and Sauvignon Blanc. This richly aromatic wine shows its youth in a fine concentration of citrus notes, asparagus and tropical aromas; medium-bodied, with refreshing acidity and gentle creaminess; smooth, with good fruitiness and a slightly saline finish.

Perfect for enjoying with friends, with sushi or alongside light snacks. More substantial dishes could have some fat or acidity to balance the acidity in the wine.
