Giordano Primitivo Rosato “Pizzicanto”
1585 €
Pizzicanto Primitivo Rosato is a dry rosé from the Salento area of Puglia in Southern Italy, made from 100% Primitivo grapes. It is a fine example of how a powerful southern variety can be fresh, elegant and summery. Primitivo usually delivers a rich, ripe fruity character, but making it in a rosé style (gentle pressing and preserving fresh fruit) brings out its lighter, brighter side. Pizzicanto Primitivo Rosato is born at the hands of Salento winemakers in Torricella, where the warm Mediterranean climate, sun and maritime influence help give Primitivo ripe fruit, while the rosé method preserves freshness and lightness.
A bright pink colour in the glass. The aroma and taste offer strawberry, raspberry and red cherries, delicate florality, and hints of peach and ripe fruit. The wine has a very soft, juicy finish. It is dry, with fresh acidity, and for a medium-bodied rosé has quite good structure. Fruity, but not sweet.
